On2VP6 or h.264? Licensing and alpha channel may be deciders for some

2010 will see a new licensing structure for h.264 come into effect. While it is not clear yet what this will mean practically for Flash and mp4 files, it is worth considering, along with a slew of other variables. On2’s VP6 is the parallel codec available to Flash developers (along with the low BW low processor req Spark), and has been expanded to keep pace with HD content provision.
