The Power of Visualization

This is a video of the real-time, molecule-accurate depiction of the process that assembles proteins from DNA instructions, crated by the Walter+Eliza Hall Institute.

The power is in the visualization of a dynamic process using video – not still photos or arrow-diagrams. The message is conveyed clearly because the medium matches the process described: movement and process is being shown as motion and storyline. It is worth keeping in mind that the best medium or method for description is the one that fits the what is being described and the desired message. What could be next? An interactive game in which the User selects the molecules and start and end points of transcription to make a specified protein?
